How accumulator odds work
An accumulator (acca) rolls several selections into one bet. The combined odds are the product of each leg's decimal odds: multiply them together. Four legs at 1.50, 2.00, 1.80 and 2.50 give 1.50 × 2.00 × 1.80 × 2.50 = 13.50, so a £10 stake returns £135.
Why accas are high-variance: every leg has to win. If each leg also has its own win probability, the chance the whole acca lands is the product of those probabilities, and that number falls fast. Four legs at 60% each is only 0.6⁴ ≈ 13%. The odds look big because the true chance is small.
Knowing the true combined chance is the edge. Compare the implied probability of the combined odds (1 ÷ combined odds) against the real product of your leg probabilities. If your honest probability is higher than the bookmaker's implied one, there's value; if it's lower, you're paying for the dream.
